Cereal Turn #2

It was a bright and shiny day. your people were walking about in their new land, looking at the awesome stuff, the birdies, the grubs, etc..etc.... Then, a loud voice boomed out into the air:
I!
AM!
CEREAL!
Suddenly, the people were pressed down to the ground like a mighty invisible hand was holding them down, breathing was difficult, small animals fell out of trees, meeped, and tried to move. A large feline was hanging on to the underside of a branch, meowing helplessly. And all your people could do, as the clouds loomed closer, and gravity increased was utter the word "heavy". The clouds aproached, hit, and disapated and finally the heavy sensation stopped as the great god began to endlessly scream and moan far below.

Then as the people were about to get up and run; a great blast of green energy surounded them, lifting them ten feet in the air . . . . Their bodies began painfully warping and changing and the people screamed like the voice of their new god. Their insides felt like they were being torn apart, they become shorter, and massive growths came out of their backs as they suddenly sprouted wings. Their legs and arms twisted and warped painfully . . . they all passed out. As the energy began to fade everyone sank gently back to the ground.

When the people finally awoke, they saw that it was no a dream. Not only was the sun bigger and the clouds lower, but they now had wings and felt lighter! Their feet were wicked talons. They could still walk but not as fast, yet they could grip the ground very very well. Their hands also claws, still with aposable thumbs but sharp and deadly. Tail feathers were in evidence, and the chest muscles were much bigger.

The resulting chest enhancement in the females made many a male rather happy i must say, even greater in proportion to their now average height of four feet. Also, although their vision in the near was now a little fuzzier, they all realized they could see much much further than before.

And they remembered that Cereal had done this. They knew what birds were, and knew they now had wings, so perhaps they could fly? Many an attempt was made, with many a failure, but once in awhile there was a near glide, or some lift! Within a year all could kinda fly. By the end of this time the people had noticed one other minor change. The people, both male and female had a pouch on the abdomen, and the females now instead of getting pregnant, instead, sometimes swelled a bit, then after a few days, laid an egg the size of a baseball, something the females were VERY greatful for, as they were much easier to pass than a full sized baby.

After a month the egg would hatch and within days the tiny infant could fly into pouches, male or female, to nurse. The females only get pregnant in the spring, and during the months when they would be in pouches, all the adults are mildly lactating, to a greater degree if a youngster has been sucking. (Although your people still do fuck all year round). The young will travel from pouch to pouch as needed, and after six months stop doing this pouch hopping, and begin eating real food, being about 2 feet tall. They reach full heigh and puberty by 18 years old and have a human life expectancy.

As so the years roll on....

Above the constant moaning of the great god's power the people flourished. They fly from olive tree to Corrib pod. They swoop down and grab small rodents, rending them with sharp claws and eating them raw. A few brave youngsters chase the birds through the sky swoop down the endless cliffs and grab their prey before returning to shore. They never go far but rejoice in the speed and the power of the hunt. They follow the rivers to their edge where they fall endlessly into a great blue plain below, or rise up again to flow back over the land.

A few foolish men and women attempt to chase the great cats or venture too far down over the worlds edge and never return, but overall life is good for the people. Most days are clear and sunny, and if it rains it only drizzles, or perhaps fogs a bit. Food and water are available, life is good. All praise Cereal!

Kirin Turn #2

In the beginning we wandered cold and alone through the great scented forest; food was scarce and we barely survived on mostly olives and sometimes the stray rabbit something else had killed. We were alone looking out over the waters hoping for salvation when the great Father God rose up out of the sea.

Our people stared in awe drawn to the majesty of his perfectly formed crystaline body. He spoke with a great calming voice announcing that he was OUR god and wished to help us. He told us that if we truly were faithful to him he would become stronger and then suggested that we grow our numbers beyond all reason. We looked at the withered landscape and the lack of food and declined. It seemed a very bad idea.

Many of us were laughing at this foolish "god" when the earth shook and the oceans from which he had come receded leaving behind a vast new land filled with tasty dead fish and drying seaweed for us to harvest, in the distance we could see a vast black cloud roaring angrilly. Father claimed this was his work, that he had made the new land just for us, and that the cloud was something he still was working on and to stay away from it.

Those who had laughed shut up and we spent many hours listening to father repeat his introduction and instructions to us again and again. We learned quickly to braid ropes from dried seaweed and tried to do this "fishing" thing with sharp stone hooks and long sticks . . . but without success. The fish always saw the thick rope and never went for the worm or the hook.

In the midst of our failure Smart Stick began mocking the father as an idiot and a false god. This offended Dim Rabbit who truly worshipped the Father. At Dim Rabbit's command the great god swooped down from where he sat like a rock in the sky to SMITE Smart Stick in the head many times until he was well and truly dead.

As our new leader Dim Rabbit gave us the riddle of the father saying that we had interpretted his instruction wrong, that it was a riddle and there must be some way to use rope hooks and sticks to catch fish, but this was NOT the way!

Soon we had nets weighted down with the hooks and tied tightly to the sticks. With practice the men could throw these NETS into the water and pull them forth filled with fish! We had solved the riddle of the father and proven to ourselves our own worth!

As if to emphasize the Father's power and the rightness of our action at that very moment a pack of wolves came forth from the forest and fire leaped from the crystal to surround them. Their eyes began to glow red and they lay down whimpering. When the fire was done they stayed with us, defending us from other wolves, and sometimes even bringing us a bit of rabbit to eat.

Since then we do well. We listen to the word of the Father and judge his wisdom with our own ears. Given fish, olives, and the accaisional rabbit to eat our numbers have began to grow as he instructed. His riddle once more is solved, we were not to grow without thinking and destroy ourselves, but rather to think for ourselves and take action at the RIGHT time.

We still are working on figuring out what two sticks rubbing together means, and every time we tie a knife to a pine stick the stick shrinks or warps and the weapon breaks or is useless within days . . . on the other hand we have some ideas on how to use ropes and nets to catch rabbits!

To this day the descendents of Dim Stick and the other true believers of the Father God use his might to beat down anyone who dares think that his information is wrong or that he might be giving us foolish instructions. Those with less faith hear the word of the the studious weilders of the Bashing Rock and either listen or die! Being smashed to death by the body of the Father is NOT pleasant, most people listen.

Bernedette Turn #2

In the first days the pathetic scent blind dirt crawlers scoured the hills alone running from wolf and lion, dodging the mighty feet of the great beasts, they were truly pathetic. These Dirt Crawlers hid in the hills amongst the trees where the largest creatures could not fit. Crawling beneath the branches they scavenged wild grapes and other defenseless things for their food. Then the Great Goddess saw these worms of the earth, poor ill formed creatures that they were, crawl into her lands and she was moved to have mercy on them!

The ground shook and the mighty river woke to life cutting a great finger pointing down from the high plateau to the plains where the great beasts lived. The people saw and were scared, confused, they did not know where to go or what do do.

Yet at that very moment the great goddess walked forth from the trees. Taller than the worms of the earth, and wearing strange clothing she came floating above the ground with eyes that glowed white with ancient wisdom. Trailing behind her came her children the great wolves who hunted the plains below. The people thought she meant to eat them. They quivered in fear!

One by one she grabbed each member of the tribe with fingers of purple fire and set them each beside one of her children, though the people tried to run but they could not move. They knew they were going to die. Yet instead of being eaten a cold white fire connected each Dirt Crawler with a mighty wolf! The people writhed in pan and passed out.

In the darkness they dreamed that they had become great wolves of purple lightning. In the dream they knew the life of the wolf and it's ways, they hunted with it even as it crawled through the forests and hills with them. And into this wonderful dream came the voice of the Goddess saying they were now the Helge-Conchabhar; her chosen people, and that if they lived well she would reward them with knowledge of herself and her ways.

The people awoke to find the goddess gone, but they themselves were transformed. Still weak and pathetically unformed they had each indeed become one with the mighty wolf. It in turn had learned to think as a man might and was their friend. At that moment the former Worms of the Dirt vowed to live as their wolf brothers lived and to pray that someday the great goddess would make them worms no more.

Since that day Twirns are inseperable and the men see through the eyes of their strong wolf protector as they gather shellfish, wild grapes, and help scare rabbits into strong waiting jaws. They sew for themselves hats and chaps of smelly rawhide and wear them in cerimony to honor the goddess but otherwise run naked with the wolves each man gifted by the goddess with full knowledge of his or her place within the pack.

In turns throughout the day the packs within the super-pack go down to the plain below. The Bernardos leave their weak and pathetic Bernadine twirns in a safe spot as they hunt large game to feed the H-C. And every evening the people spar with each other for dominance and eat in order of pack rank. Life is hard yet every night when the people sleep the ghostly purple wolves of the goddess rise up over the bodies of the Twirns like an unfullfilled promise. The tribe never forgets.

Damon Turn #2

Long ago our people lived here in the land of two rivers. The grain was tasty, and the game plentiful, but the land was restless and wild. Great Damon slept below the surface of the ground and in his dreaming the world warped to match his nightmare. Some years the rivers shrank and the grain vanished and the people starved, other years the great floods came to wash away both man and beast.

And then one day while our ancestors sat upon a fallen tree trunk washed here by the mighty flood, as we began once again to rebuild our lives and remake our few pitiful possessions, there came a great and mighty roaring and a shaking from the south. The river surged throwing fish and even a gator from it's basin.

The sky became dark and a great wind began to blow us from where we were working. The rain hit our bodies like falling stones and the wind pushed us and the great cats alike backward . . . . great flashes of blue sheet lightning lit the sky and traced a fence of fiery power stretching around us in all directions.

And then we reached the sacred spot of Damon the Mighty, Damon The Pure, Damon Lord of the two rivers! Here surrounded by the storm all was calm and we sat to rest, the great cats did not even try to eat us. Yet we were not safe, we were in the hands of the mighty god!

From the sky a great pillar of blue and violet fire shot down peircing the ground with a mighy crackling roar of the gods name and all his terrible titles and blasting the entire landscape with a cold blue light. Beneath the gods flames the ground melted and the fire rose up into the sky revealing a great spring of clear blue water 40 foot wide and going deeper into the ground than we wished to see.

As the winds died down the gods fire stretched and shrank into a single finger of cold blue flame 20 foot high and 2 feet around at the exact center of the ever pure sacred spring. Time passed and several men and cats went to drink of the waters, and when all had drank and were feeling thankful we were caught by a mighty aching in our bellies and the world was washed with blue, and when we awoke our features had changed and so had those of the great cats.

Both of us had blue hair or fur, and eyes that glowed in the dimness of the storm with cold blue fire. Ever since that day the blue cats, our brothers, stay nearby and watch over us, sometimes sharing their kill with us, as we watch over them when and how we can. We are further back from the mighty rivers who's flow is now regular and steady, if very fast, and in it's proper season there is almost always enough grain for us to eat.

Far to the south the horizon is always tinged with a fiery red glow, which we don't understand, but we are sure it is some work of Damon. Perhaps he burns the souls of those who displease him there?

Cheetahcat Turn #2

In the beginning our people roamed through the first world in valleys and chasms where monkeys played among the branches. This was the oldest world the birthplace of mankind. It was destroyed in a mighty shaking and a deep and mighty flooding. The waters came from the north and south to drown the lakes that were almost as big as oceans themselves and we barely managed to climb up out of the first world into this this second world with our lives.

For many months, perhaps even a year or two we survived in the barely formed second world watching the new plants and the new creatures spread as the storms came in again and again warm and gentle from the northwest during the summer, and cold, hard, and blustery from the southeast during the monsoon season.

The trees sprouted, the clams grew abundant, and the people rejoiced as the world began to take on a more familiar shape, filled with rich bounty . . .

Then came the Mother Cheetahcat to the First Great Man and the First Great Woman in dreams telling her of the coming of the cats. Mother Cheetahcat was a woman, but with the features and the elegant motion of the great runners. She showed us living in peace with her children and when First Great Man and First Great Woman told the people we rejoiced and waited for her coming.

It was evening when she floated glowing white in the dusk from the trees surrounded by her children, a pride of five great males, and 5 proud and haughty females with their cubs. Moonlight stretched from her fingertips and these great cats lay down amongst us and changed before our eyes!

They took on a purple sheen on belly, and ears, and their once green eyes glowed violet brimming with a feral intelligence. And wonder of wonders they spoke to us in our minds!

At the begining we rejoiced as they shared their kills with us and left us to take care of their young as they hunted in their prides or in lone female glory . . . They quickly learned to make our knives fly through the air of their own accord and to make their own and meat became more plentiful . . .

Yet more and more we were left to do the drugery as they hunted. We watched the young in camp, we made their stone knives, and we did little else. It came to a head when a proud and mighty male asked First Great Man to bury his manure . . . First Great Man refused and for his refusal First LORD CheetahCat sent both his own knife and first Great Mans Knife into his heart and then tossed the offending pathetic human into the new sea!

Since then we bury the shit, we take care of the young, we make the stone knives and we don't complain. Our leaders chew the columbrina seed and paint themselves with purple spots with indigo in imitation of the mighty CheetahCats who's number grows daily! Many of us serve well and quietly hoping to be elevated to Cheetahhood by Mother CheetahCat. Those who offend her great children the CheetahCats die and we pray that they have otherwise lived a good life and might come back as one of our great goddess' chosen feline children. As she wills it, or they will it, so it shall be. We're only human after all.

Tyleno Turn #2

Legend says that one fine morning our ancestors were sitting by the shore of the great river eating breadfruit, avoiding tigers, and wishing we too cold kill large animals and have enough good food to eat when the world began to shake with a mighty screaming roar. Dark clouds appeared to the west flashed with many lightnings and a warm rain began to fall as the rivers sped up and began to overflow their banks . . . we were much afraid but great Tyleno took mercy uppon us!

Suddenly the winds stopped and the rain was pushed aside, the rivers flow eased and we were filled with a mighty calm. The very winds whispered the name tyleno and above use the sky caught on fire from horizon to horrizon blotting out the dark clouds to the west with it's great and mighty dancing glory.

From that point on the sky above us was no longer blue but rather a dancing aura of flames accaisionally streaked by a lightning flash that never touched the ground or harmed ANYONE. Rain never fell and at night the sky merely faded to a twilight glow of dancing flame without stars or moon. Darkness never touches the land of tyleno!

As our ancestors stood and marveled fingers of cold flame shot down from the aurora and bathed each of us transforming our features. We glowed with the heat of our bodies, our hair was flame red, our skin a deep reddish yellow with patterns reflecting the fires above, and we could see the heat of other animals too. The tiger in the weeds stood out like beacon, so did the deer, and many other animals large and small in the surrounding jungle.

Best of all we somehow knew we now had the power of fire within us, the gift of Tyleno, flames don't burn us, and we can call forth fire into our hands, or elsewhere on our bodies. Groups of us quickly ganged up on the deer surrounding it and burning it to death. We ate our first cooked meal that day and it was GOOD!

Since then it never rains, and the climate is always warm and pleasant, the river flows steady and calm never flooding and there are many cool springs and gysers that water the land.

Furuboshi Turn #2

The people talk of the time before the great goddess appeared and gave them their guardians, and rightful lords. One night on a full moon in spring, the people were huddled in the dark, a few awake on the alert for any animals that would like to eat them. When a bright, bright glow appeared not far from them, so bright as to almost blind them, a great rumble shook the earth, all the people awoke in time to watch in awe as the Great henge of pure white stone rose from the ground, glowing on a white column fifteen feet above the marsh. As the rumble subsided, a flash occured, and a wave of minor sparkling wind rushed out from the sacred henge at rapid speed, glowing and sparkling golden in the night.

Then the goddess herself, hard to see inside the mighty glow of the henge, stood there, and called out the names of four of the females. one old woman, one childless woman of child rearing age, one girl not yet an adult, and a toddler, all with no living parents or offspring. All not sure what was to happen, but figuring one does not disobay one who just raised a large stone thing out of the ground like this, all went forward, the eldest carrying the toddler. Once they entered in, all four of them and the goddess disapeared in a flash of light. Moments passed. Then the great goddess Furuhoshi's voice echoed into the night 'I give you your new lords and rulers, all who follow me shall prosper!' Then she faded.

The four apointed over the people now had great power, and life changed. Mainly for the better.
The elderly crone had turned into a awe inspiring creature of beauty, connected with water. She soon picked a nearby pool, and often would melt away into the water itself. She could using her magics make the water pure, and safe to drink, and as a matter of course soon had her pool always pure and healthy to drink, the people prospered.

The baren woman of child baring age had turned into a very proud creature, despite her small size. And it was justified, after all, only she could fly! She sometimes would distract animals with her glowing form, or blast creatures backwords with mighty air blasts. A male or two also felt this force after making rude comments, and quickly learned not too.

The almost adult girl? Well she had always been a nit of a tomboy. And now with her mighty muscled form, goat legs and horns, she was fearsome to behold. As much as she wanted to enter into constant combat with animals, the elderly ones always councled against being too reckless, as no need to loose such a unique creature. She however did go on many a hunt, and they did do better, her ability to see heat patterns made finding animals at dusk and early morning much easier.

Also, although she could create small fires, that the people learned could scare away animals and make food taste better, she insisted it be put out every full moon, and she would not relight it untill someone would fight her to first knockdown. (she has yet to lose).

The people have grown used to this, and fear her power, but respect the good she does.

The toddler? well, she turned into a pudgy, humanoid about the same height actually. Loving food, and knowledgable in herb, she started using her powers to treat minor wounds, and heal the sick. Despite seeing so much injury over the years, she kept her childlike innocense, and even when one of the people dies, bids them farewell to 'mommy', she still insists on calling furuhosi that.

The people have learned to stay away from the henge without permission, and the four matrons often go into it and disapear. The people wonder where they are going, some think to the land of the great goddess herself, others are not so sure. About 50 years in, all four came into heat, and took mates, some willingly, some not so, but there are now 8 fey.

The children are very much like their mothers, but these children however were never human, and tend to treat the humans more as playthings than their mothers ever do, not only that the Matrons are perfect ladies mind you. They ARE the chosen, and if the people do not please them, there will be repercussions!

On the whole, its going ok, but as the matrons grow more and more detached from the average life of a human, with such primitive abilities and such patheticly short lives, who knows?
