GameMasters Post:

Description:

A hundred years ago almost to the day you appeared over the head of the tribes first chief Sharp eyed Vulture. Your image outlined his head in a display of holy fire and anyone standing too close got a mighty sunburn. People still talk of what happened next. How Sharp eyed Vulture callapsed into a trance and received the holy wisdom of Drethnor.

Following your command He gathered a band of followers, strong men loyal to him from past hunts, and went out following the voice of the god. One by one his followers gathered the young bison and made them part of the tribe. Since than the tribes luck has changed completely.

Sharp Eyed Vulture taught the people to raise the bison as they had the vultures of old. He also showed them where to drink from the river and how to bury the feces of both man and bison. From his teachings men learned to drink milk and water, and the children were not so sickly, fewer men went hungry or were forced to eat rotten meat from a lions kill. Life is good.

With a steady source of milk, meat, and marrow the seven families who followed Sharp Eyed Vulture have slowly gained complete control over the tribe. After them come the bravest of the hunters, followed by the scavengers who harvest other predators kills, and finally at the very bottom come the women who collect yams and others vegatables while tending to the tribes young.

Malnutrition and disease are still a problem, but not nearly as much as before, and accidents are down as fewer people tangle with the big cats or have to go out hunting alone with just a spear to protect them.

Drethnor's Post:

(1) Interesting they formed a tribal structure without me telling them too. I hadn't expected that, not entirely sure how I like this "royal families" tribal cheiftain rulership thing yet. Gotta admit it does sort of make sense from what I've taught them.

Ok, anyway I want to appear in a dream vision to a woman this time, I'll choose one from an "upper class" family to keep people from having a fit, but this "women are the lowest" bit has got to go.

I'll use 1 point while she's around all of her friends to repeat my "choosing" performance from last time. Then I'm going to annoint her prophet and give her a detailed dream, just like last time, should be six points. Cookie cutter turn, but it worked. I also want to be SURE some of the upper class men are watching.

What I want to do first is to teach her how to make fire using flint and steel. I'm tired of these guys eating raw meat all the time, it's not healthy. I just realized they don't have fire! Just some stone spears and a herd of cattle. Talk about primitive.

I'm going to teach her how to cook the food on spits over an open fire, how to light up the camp at night with torches, and how safely bank the fire when they leave or nobody is tending it. I don't want to start forest or grass fires!

(2) Later I'm going to use another dream and teach her how to tan leather from the hides of the tribes cattle and make a variety of materials with it. I already know this is a smelly process which takes time, and I make point that one should honor the scavengers, the tanners, and others who perform such duties. The things you learn online, never knew you tanned leather with brain juice!

I'll teach her to make leather sacks to hold wild yams and other belongings, plus leather water flasks, and larger flasks for boiling water. I give her a commandment that all water drank by the tribe should be boiled first by the women and stored in such flasks. Drethnor feels drinking unboiled spring water is unclean! I'll also teach her to use boiling water and meat to make a very basic, tasty, beef stew.

(3) If women are seen as so low there is still likely to be an undercurrent of tension at my new female prophet and her teachings. I'm going to watch for any action against her or if not her against her women, trying to abuse them or stop them from starting fires, or tanning leather.

If it's many small actions simply use fear points to cause all the men doing the actions to fall over with stomach cramps instantly as they act. But what I'd really look for is an action where a "mighty hunter" is trying to abuse or force himself on a woman, at which point I want to not only strike him down but attack and kill him with my vultures!

Feedback:

(1) hmmm . . . yup that is a repeat of last turn pretty close, but your going to have to spend some extra points to locate the flint and iron deposits, they aren't something your people or vultures would notice. Your also not going to be able to teach her to make "steel" right now or even work iron, you don't have the tools for that yet. . . But she can gather iron or fairly easilly here. I'm guessing that's what you meant anyhow. Call it 8 faith points for this action, plus one fear point. If you really wanted them working the iron you'll need to do a lot more work first.

(2) Very nice, they do have everything they need to make leather bags and such the process is long and it stinks but you certainly can do it for the standard five points for a dream.

(3) ok, sounds good. We'll see what happens here. We should be ready to process now.
