Gamemaster's Post
Description
The past century blessed Mesnoth's people with fertility and good health. In the first years after the huts were erected all the women in the village had twins. Two perfect children, a boy and a girl. Each one had light chocolate skin, slanted almond eyes, long straight black hair, and perfect big white teeth. Oddest of all each of the children had eyes the same light blue color as the god's obelisk. An eye color the people had never seen before!
These strange god children grew big and strong living in the shadow of Mesnoth's Great Obelisk. Over the next generation every child born was touched by the god bearing his mark as a race of their own. In a single generation the people grew from a few families into a mighty tribe!
The building efforts to house all of those people without infringing on the feilds, epecially the yams led to some major developments. House building efforts led to better boats based on the basketlike roofs. At first these were as clunky as the rafts and prone to turn over, but eventually they settled into an efficient canoe shape with an outrigger for stability.
The need for space soon led to the people lashing rafts to the top of rows of these canoes to form larger pontoons. They built new huts on top of these and pushed them into position in deeper water out beyond the manboo, rice, and mansa feilds. These new huts are held in place by Manboo poles set into the silty riverbed.
Two rows of pontoon huts now completely encircle the island which is almost entirely covered by the people's yam feilds. Your original half circle of huts still stand, but these are reserved for the tribes twelve oldest members. These twelve honored souls sit as a high council that rules over all the people.
About fifty years into the turn your first obelesk seed rose out of the muck in front of the original crystal. It's a rectangular glowing crytal 6 foot long, two foot wide, and two foot tall. Like it's parent it glows with a soft blue light where it rests beneath the water.
